DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, April 9\, Clark College Baseball is hosting a Military Appreciation Day at its game against Linfield College. A pre-game ceremony begins at 12:45 p.m.\, at Kindsfather Field on Clark’s main campus. The game will follow immediately afterward at 1:00 p.m. \nWorking with the college’s Veterans Resource Center\, the Penguins have invited veterans of every major U.S. military conflict from World War II onward to throw out a ceremonial pitch. One of the veterans\, who is in her 90s\, served during WW II as a cryptographer in the WAVES (the women’s branch of the U.S. Navy Reserve). \nThis event is open to the public. Tickets\, which can be purchased at the event\, are $5 per person. Children aged 10 and under are free. Clark students\, faculty\, and staff are free with valid Clark ID. DESCRIPTION:C-4 Does Not Float \nSpeaker: Timothy Shotwell \nRetired Master Sergeant Timothy Shotwell served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves for over 30 years\, serving from the Vietnam War to the Global War on Terrorism. He will share many tales\, some amusing\, some not so amusing relating to his military experiences. \nThe presentation will last about 60 minutes\, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Marshall House\, on Officer’s Row. This no admission fee. The Marshall House is located at 1301 Officer’s Row\, Vancouver\, WA 98661. To get there from Interstate 5\, take Exit 1C. Head east on Mill Plain Blvd to the first light\, then go south (right) on Fort Vancouver Way to the traffic circle. Take the third exit\, east on Evergreen Blvd to the second parking lot. The Marshall House is on the north side of Evergreen Blvd.
