CPL Johnson\, Age 23 of Battle Ground/Brush Prairie\, WA\, was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and served with 3rd Battalion\, 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment\, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne)\, 25th Infantry Division. \nOn 26 December 2006\, CPL Johnson was operating as a Gunner while conducting combat operations near Baghdad\, Iraq. His team’s Humvee rolled over and was submerged under water. Two of his team members in the vehicle did not survive. CPL Johnson\, suffering from hypothermia and other injuries\, was rushed to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.
