DESCRIPTION:TO ALL OUR DEDICATED SUPPORTERS \nWe are having our “Helping Our Heroes” Fundraiser on November 7th\, 2024.  This year’s fundraiser will be on KATU Channel 2\, from 5:00 AM TO 10:00 PM. At both 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on AM Northwest\, and at 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Afternoon Live\, we will have live interviews\, including CCVAC Staff\, Volunteers\, and Veteran beneficiaries’ talking about what we do at CCVAC and who we help. \nWe know many of you have donated to this fundraiser in the past and we appreciate all your donations. Williams grew up on a farm in the rural township of Winter\, Wisconsin. He graduated from the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point in 1980\, served more than 27 years active in the U.S. Army\, and continued to serve in our Nation’s space program until retiring in 2024. \nAn astronaut since 1996\, Williams logged a record-setting 534 days in space on four flights\, launching on both the Space Shuttle and the Russian Soyuz in direct support of the assembly and operation of the International Space Station (ISS)\, most recently returning to Earth in September 2016.  Over that time\, he also logged nearly 32 hours during five space walks in both U.S. and Russian space suits. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHe is the author of\, “The Work of His Hands: A View of God’s Creation from Space.” Williams holds a bachelor’s degree from USMA\, master’s and aerospace engineering degrees from the Naval Postgraduate School\, a master’s degree in national security from the Naval War College\, and a Doctor of Ministry from The Master’s Seminary. \nColonel Williams currently serves as an elder at Word of Grace Bible Church\, a Russian-speaking\, Slavic immigrant community\, in Battle Ground\, Washington.  He also serves as a director on the boards of Grace to You\, the Institute of Creation Research\, the Getty Music Foundation\, and Cornerstone Christian Academy.  He and his wife\, Anna-Marie\, have been married since 1980\, and have two amazing sons and seven awesome grandchildren. \n\n\nBuy a ticket or table of 10 tickets

DESCRIPTION:  \nThank you for joining us for our 14th Annual Riverview Bank Symbol of Freedom event Sponsored by Waste Connections of WA.\, Inc. \nThis event is held annually near Veterans Day and was created as a way to honor our local veterans\, many of whom\, are our clients. We also use this event to educate our guests as to WHAT we do\, HOW we do it and WHY we do what we do to serve our clients in the best manner possible. \nEach year\, an inspirational citizen joins us to share a story of resilience\, perseverance and motivation. We are always amazed and appreciative of the stories and experiences our Keynote Speaker brings with them. \nThis year’s keynote speaker is US Navy Commander (ret.) Rebecca (Becky) Calder. A 1998 Naval Academy graduate and native of Longview\, WA\, Cmdr. Becky Calder served as an F/A-18 pilot and was the first woman pilot to graduate from the Navy’s Strike Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN). During her 15 years as a F/A-18 pilot she supported Operation Southern Watch\, Operation Enduring Freedom\, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
