Civil Discourse or Civil Divide

February 28 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

Do not miss this important event hosted by VANTalks exploring the impact of civil discourse on our community and ways we can work together to bridge divides. This interactive event includes facilitated dialogue sessions, collaborative workshops, strategies for positive action, and engaging discussions.

This special evening features two amazing speakers, including The Historic Trust’s very own Temple Lentz, President/CEO! Temple will share about an innovative approach The Historic Trust is taking to build conversations between strangers. What happens when community members get together to ask each other “36 Questions for Civic Love”?

Will Campbell, Associate Editor and co-owner of The Columbian will discuss the future of traditional local journalism. In many communities in the US, local independent reporter jobs have diminished and disappeared. What’s replaced them are bloggers, Facebook groups, and politically-driven propaganda.
