40 et 8 Voyageur, Command Sergeant Major Lyle Wold passed away on Saturday, July 27th, 2024. Lyle’s wife shared “he passed away from a sudden illness that spread quickly.”

A Memorial Service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, August 21st, at 11:00 AM at Willamette National Cemetery, located at 11800 SE Mt. Scott Blvd, Portland. Lyle’s service will provide us an opportunity to pay our respects and remember the significant impact he had on our community.

Lyle was the acting Command Sergeant Major of the 104th Training Division under General Eldon Regua at Vancouver Barracks in Washington. He served as a vital link between the WWII Veterans and the current Veterans of the 104th, always bringing a helping hand and a smile to our reunions. His dedication and warm spirit will be greatly missed.-
